Applications Grade

This curriculum focuses on the teaching and learning
of technology skills and the use of computers and related tools. The one-semester curriculum includes core
curriculum integration with the topics of basic word processing, drawing tools,
desktop publishing, spreadsheet fundamentals, database, multimedia design and
presentation, Internet, and web design.
MB612 Introduction to
Keyboarding Grade
Placement: 6
This is an introductory course for MB713 or
MB813. The student learns proper finger
placement, location of keyboard keys, and begins development of speed and
accuracy.
MB711 Technology
Applications Grade
Placement: 7
This curriculum focuses on the teaching and learning
of technology skills and the use of computers and related tools. The one-semester curriculum includes core
curriculum integration with the topics of basic word processing, drawing tools,
desktop publishing, spreadsheet fundamentals, database, multimedia design and

MB713 Keyboarding a Grade
Placement: 7
This course prepares students to operate the keyboard
by touch and develop acceptable speed and accuracy levels. Formatting of basic documents is
included. Successful completion of this
course counts for .5 elective high school credit. If taken for credit, it cannot be repeated at
the 8th grade level for additional credit.
MB714 Keyboarding b Grade
Placement: 7
The second semester of this course places emphasis on
speed, accuracy, and the ability to do business correspondence, business forms,
and research papers. Successful
completion of this course counts for .5 elective high school credit. If taken for credit, it cannot be repeated at
the 8th grade level for additional credit.

Placement: 8
Career Investigation is an exploratory course in which
students are introduced to the world of work.
In this activity-based course, students work individually and
cooperatively exploring a wide variety of occupations within fifteen career
clusters; completing personal inventories and education plans to develop job
acquisition skills while gaining a sense of personal and business management.

Course

Prerequisite: None
This course provides an opportunity to develop and operate
a small group or class-based business such as offering a service or product to
the community or school. Basic
entrepreneurial concepts and fundamental business operating principles are
taught by working in teams and collaboratively.
